In 2020, the Texas Rangers debuted their brand new stadium, Globe Life Field. While the new stadium boasted 21st-century amenities, a retractable roof and air conditioning (praise the Lord), there was still one thing it lacked: history.

With the stadium as our canvas, we helped bring larger-than-life 60-foot murals, sculptural installations and the franchise’s greatest players and moments to life, injecting it with a dose of the club’s history in ways that connect with long-time fans and new visitors, young and old.

To commemorate the organization’s retired numbers and championship seasons, we designed shadow boxes featuring oversized sculptures of player or team jerseys, specific in every detail to the year in which they were worn. Our partners at Eyecon Studios and Martin & Martin helped bring the concept to life in exquisite detail.

As a tribute to Rangers legend Nolan Ryan, we enlarged still frames from his record-setting 5,000th strikeout, positioning them dynamically up a prominent stairwell. At the top of the staircase hangs an artistic interpretation of Ryan in his iconic pose, formed entirely of baseballs and shattered Louisville Slugger bats, thanks to a collaboration with Brad Oldham Studios.

On the other side of the Nolan Ryan stairwell, we listed each of the 1,063 unique batters Ryan struck out with a strike through their name, and accented the wall with the famous quote from his 5,000th victim, Rickey Henderson.

Taking cues from the iconic historical markers that dot Texas roadways, we created Texas Rangers Historical Markers to help tell the story of the franchise along its path, from its birth in 1972 to its current iteration.

Gigantic wall murals – up to three stories tall – literally turn the Rangers’ heroes into larger-than-life icons. A bold underscore of the team’s red, white and blue piping gives these tributes a classic and timeless feel.

To honor the iconic call of legendary Rangers announcer Chuck Morgan, we designed a functional clock in centerfield featuring the team’s original branding and logo. Our partners at Gratuitous Sets brought the half-ton piece to life, artfully adding rust, scratches and dents to add to the authenticity.

While the fan-facing Globe Life Field focused on the franchise’s history and monumental moments from the past, the branding for the Rangers’ clubhouse was very much focused on the future. From the weight room to the dressing room to the dugout, we helped connect the different spaces of the clubhouse visually, while finding places to include messaging that would help inspire players in a fresh and ownable way.
